A Message from our Assistant Superintendent

  • Welcome to the Ontario-º¬Ðß²Ýapp School District Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) website. This website is designed to provide parents, teachers, community members and other stakeholders with information and resources to support the educational needs of students with disabilities. I encourage you to take a moment to browse and become more familiar with all that OMSD SELPA has to offer.

Ontario-º¬Ðß²Ýapp School District is especially proud of the specialized programs that we offer, such as the Autism Program, Behavior Intervention Classes, Orthopedic Impairment classes, Intensive Reading Workshop, and the Annual Social Skills Camp. We work closely with San Bernardino County Schools, Inland Regional Center, Chaffey Joint Union High School District, and Early Start Programs to ensure that students receive the most appropriate programs, supports, and services available for students with disabilities under IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, 2004).In addition, OMSD works in collaboration with non-public schools and agencies and the nine other neighboring districts to provide a continuum of services and placement options.

I’ve worked in the educational field for the past 20 years in various capacities and pride myself on being a transformational leader. It is my pleasure and honor to work alongside the dedicated education specialists, related services providers, Special Education Leadership Team and committed district directors to build a community of learners. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude and thanks to the Board of Trustees and Dr. Hammond for bestowing upon me the opportunity to lead the OMSD SELPA on this remarkable journey.

    Enthusiastically,

    Dr. Alana Hughes-Hunter

    Assistant Superintendent SELPA & Equity
    Ontario-º¬Ðß²Ýapp School District
